Accommodation Service at UL
The Accommodation Service at University of Limerick is managed by Campus Life Services. The office is located at the Student Centre at the University of Limerick. The office provides assistance to students who require help and advice when looking for accommodation off-campus.

It is strongly recommended that off campus accommodation is inspected by students with particular regard for suitability and safety before committing to a contract or lease agreeement. The university does not accept liability for accommodation advertised on the off campus database. Please see our Off Campus Advice leaflet for more information.

Types of Off Campus Accommodation
Off-Campus Apartment Complexes
There are a number of privately run apartment complex developments located in the Castletroy area where accommodation is offered to students attending third level colleges in the area. Each complex has its own website and is located within 20 minutes' walk from the main entrance of UL. Properties are managed by private management companies and rental fees are normally paid in advance of each semester. Students interested in living in an apartment complex off campus should contact the operators directly.

In most cases, these properties are privately owned and the student deals directly with the landlord. Landlords will generally advertise through the link at the top of the page. Other useful websites for searching for off campus accommodaiton include www.daft.ie, www.rent.ie, www.property.ie.
Usually students are required to sign a lease agreement for an academic year and are required to pay rental fees monthly. Students living in off campus accommodation are responsible for associated bills which are shared with other housemates. When planning to live off-campus, students should budget for:

When booking self-catering accommodation students can expect to pay a booking deposit equivalent to one month's rent. In addition, students can expect to pay an electricity bond of €150 per house and a refuse collection charge of approximately €250 per house per year in advance. These estimations will vary.

Salesian House
The Salesian Hostel is situated 3 minutes' walk from the university campus. The hostel provides male students with bed & breakfast and evening meal.

Lodgings/Digs
This accommodation provides the opportunity to live with a local family on a 5 or 7 day basis. Some renters will include meals in their pricing.
A student can expect to pay a booking deposit equivalent to one week's rent.
Students are advised to be aware of their rights when renting a room in an owner occupied house. Here is a useful link with some information.

University of Limerick Housemate Finder

Once you have filled out the form, your details will be uploaded to our database and you can be contacted by others who may want to search for accommodation with you.
